PIZZA MY HEART VALENTINE – FREE PRINTABLE

I don’t know about you, but my oldest, Ari, is obsessed with key chains! He has about 20 on his backpack! These weird little pizza key chains are what he’s giving his class this year. Last year was the slap bracelets, which were a big hit!

1. Purchase pizza key chains HERE. One order comes with 24 pizzas, $0.50 each!

2. Download printable HERE

3. Print on white card stock. THIS is our favorite for really good quality colors!

4. Cut right on the lines using a paper cutter. THIS one is the best for seeing where you’re cutting.

5. Punch a hole in the top left corner using THIS size punch.

6. Cut bakers twine HERE about 10″ long

7. Tie a slip knot and then tie the key chain on securely and make your kiddo write their name 🙂 THIS brown is great!

Easy Cheesy!

DIY VALENTINE KEEPER

We wanted to create some valentine catchalls for our littles to take to school or simply hang on their door to collect all of the sweet valentines that they get from their friends and family. We wanted to do something a little bit different than the average shoe box that we all know (and love….. or do we?). I may have had too much fun doing this little project…. shhh!
Here is what you will need:
– 2 pieces of felt
– twine
– scissors
– craft glue
-heat bond tape
-iron/ ironing board
– 1 needle
– straw (if you are doing one for a boy)
– anything you choose to decorate your bag with! I chose ribbon and felt stickers
Simply lay out your two pieces of felt, cut strips of the heat bonding tape for 3 of the sides as shown and iron over each strip holding for about 6-8 seconds per section. ALLOW TIME FOR IT TO COOL!! Then, pull the paper part off of the tape. If it has not cooled, this part will not work!
Lay your second piece of felt directly on top of the piece with the tape.
Iron. Again, be sure and leave the iron on each second long enough for it to actually bond. Patience!
Allow for cooling time to ensure a good hold. Then, you should have a pocket that looks like this.
Next, string your twine through the needle, and poke the needle through both pieces of felt. It will be hard to get it through the heat bonding tape, so be sure to poke your hole just outside of the edge of the tape.  tie a double knot to secure the twine.
Do this on both sides.
Play with your design before securing everything to the felt. Lay it all out just how you want it.
Then, get to gluing. I only needed to glue the ribbon I used. I used Martha Stewarts craft glue, which worked fabulously.
The stickers were felt, and I got them at Target! They adhered to the felt bag extremely well.

If you are doing one for a boy, you can slide a straw onto the twine before you thread each side to create a carrying handle…. kind of like a briefcase. 😉
This is such a fast and super simple project that you can actually do with your kids!! We made a couple more of these bags, and I did the ironing and threading. Then, I just let Amara peel and stick (hence the upside down hearts on hers) as she pleased. Now, go fill this thing up with some V-day goodies!

CANDY PILLOW BOXES: ANOTHER VALENTINE DIY

Hope everyone’s week is going well! Just wanted to share what we did for Amara’s Valentines this year for her sweet little friends. She wasn’t allowed to actually help, unfortunately, because she is a little under the weather. Germs! So, I assembled these little candy boxes during 45 minutes of her calling my name from her room nap time.
It is no secret that we are in love with the Target dollar section. It served me so well for this holiday! I picked up a few chipboard letters, heart pillow boxes and some sprinkle tape.
^^ Things you need: candies of your choice, foam mounting tape, chipboard letters, pillow boxes, sprinkle tape… ^^
^^ and some FABULOUS chocolates (from Olive Sinclair) – check! ^^
^^ For the non-kid chocolate lover, I just wrapped a few chocolate pieces in wax paper and tied it with twine. Perfect small treat! ^^
^^ Can we just talk about this sprinkle tape?! ^^
^^ I cut a few tiny pieces of the ‘foam tape’ for the back of the chipboard letters just to give it a “lifted” look on the pillow box. ^^

Hope you have a Happy Valentine’s Day…
xoxo!

HARRY POTTER VALENTINES CARD (FREE PRINTABLE)

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you’ll enjoy this. If you’ve never read the books or seen the movies… um why not? Better get on that. I wanted to share the Valentine’s Day card I made for my husband this year (and hope he’s not reading this post!). You could totally use this for your kid’s class valentines too!
1. Click HERE to buy the glasses
2. Click HERE for the printable.
3. Print on card stock- you can find single sheets of red and gold at most craft stores, or purchase white card stock HERE
4. Cut using our fav easy cutting board HERE

5. Cut out holes as shown in the photo below with an x-acto knife or simply tape with washi tape.

And if you’re really feeling nerdy, grab our Harry Potter tattoos HERE and Harry Potter nail tattoos HERE!
Cut 2 rectangles to poke the glasses through. I printed on a scrap piece of paper first to fiddle with where to cut. Below is what the back will look like.
If you don’t have glasses for the card, use THIS printable.
I did mine in Gryffindor colors naturally, but just red works well for Valentine’s Day too!

Want to see what huge HP nerds my husband and I are? Here’s the costume I made for our then one-year-old, Ari! I cannot wait to start reading the books together (in about 6 years!).
Details about this costume and more DIY baby Halloween costumes HERE.
Anyone else LOVE Harry Potter as much as I do? I’m trying to get Jenni on the Hogwarts Express Harry Potter train! Won’t she love the books??
